Lakedell Recreation Facility

The Lakedell Agricultural Society is considering reconstructing the curling rink to transform the facility into a versatile multi-purpose building. We held open meetings on April 4 and 16 to gather ideas, opinions, and feedback for this project. As a result of these meetings, a committee has been formed, chaired by Tim Belec.

The committee’s next step is to meet with the firm that conducted the feasibility study (which is available for download here) and submit a grant application for architectural and engineering planning. This process may take several months to determine the outcome. Meanwhile, the committee will continue to conduct research, plan, and build relationships with stakeholders.

Once more information is gathered and further knowledge is obtained, another meeting with the public and members will be held to gather feedback before presenting the plan to the Board of Directors for final approval.
