Update from Lakedell Ag Society
With so much uncertainty and out of concern for our Ag Society Members and our Community we are forced to postpone and/or cancel many of our upcoming events and services. These decisions are not made lightly, and we are mandated to not hold large gatherings at this time.
Our Bullridin’ & Bootscootin’ event scheduled for March 28 will be postponed until a later date (we do not know when this will be yet). If you have purchased tickets, please be aware that we will either offer a refund or take your ticket at the newly scheduled event. Sponsors will be contacted in the coming days as well to notify them of this and to offer to either hold any sponsor dollars over to the new event of refund them if they choose.
Regularly scheduled activities such as 4-H, Pony Club, Dustin Grams Riding Lessons, Fitness Classes, Curling, Pickle Ball, Flight Nights and Art Nights are also cancelled until further notice. We recognize that these events may not host the capacity that Alberta Health has outlined however we need to keep our community in mind during this time. We will also be postponing and perhaps cancelling our Farm Safety Day as well as Women’s Conference however decisions have not been made at this time.
Our riding arena remains open for drop in riding.
We ask that people follow the guidelines set forth by Alberta Health to help contain the spread of this virus.
As of March 15, the official direction with respect to mass gatherings was:
“Mass gatherings
- Places of worship are no longer exempt from the recommended restrictions on mass gatherings. Public health officials continue to recommend that all mass gatherings of 250 people or more are cancelled, and this now includes worship gatherings.
- Any event that has more than 50 attendees and expects to have international participants, or involves critical infrastructure staff, seniors, or other high-risk populations, should also be cancelled.
- Events that do not meet these criteria can proceed at this time, but risk mitigation must be in place, such as enforcing distancing of one to two metres between attendees and using sanitizer stations.”
Regular office hours will be shortened due to the cancellations and postponements. Please be patient and understanding with our organization at this time.
